This month we are fundraising to provide 4,050 people with Long Life Insecticide Nets (LLIN) to protect them from malaria.
In the past fifteen years malaria mortality rates have dropped by about half, yet it remains both a major cause and a consequence of global poverty and inequality.
Malaria is preventable. An LLIN protects up to two people as they sleep at night and is the most effective means of prevention. Since 2011 we’ve funded enough nets to protect over 27,000 people, preventing an estimated 50 deaths.
The efficiency and value for money displayed by our partner Against Malaria has seen them once again ranked #1 in the GiveWell top charities list. Since they launched they have funded 36 million nets, proving that we can be the generation to end malaria. Nets last on average 3 years so the 2,000 + we are fundraising for will provide 4.4 million nights of safe sleep for people who need it the most.
