We are one year closer to ending poverty! 2016 was a great year for our small collective. In 12 months 199 individuals have raised over £70,000 to help the world’s poorest people. We’ve calculated how many people have benefited from our 1% this year and the numbers are staggering.

Before we blow your minds, we’d like to launch a different kind of Christmas appeal. We are appealing to you to speak to your friends and family over the holidays to share with them what being part of Be One Percent means to you. We grow by reputation and if we can start the New Year with 200+ members we can help even more people around the world leave poverty behind for good.

So, without further ado, our collective 1% has benefited 35,644 people in 2016… and we still have one more project to go!

A huge thanks to every one of our members and to the business sponsors who fund our running costs. Here’s what £70,000 looks like when it’s put to good use:

3 wells supplying 1,292 people with clean water for the first time
A new library for 545 homeless young people
Long Life Insecticide Nets for 4,830 people
303 small business loans
Meals for 1,451 children every school day
Neglected Tropical Disease treatment for 13,867 children and at-risk adults
Better health care for 3,424 mothers
