by Luca & Amy!
We arrived at the Festival Gardens and set up around 1pm on the day of the run. We had a cheeky subway before our run and we met the Festival Garden rangers – Caroline & Paul!
People started arriving and there was onesies everywhere! Camouflage, reindeer, dinosaur, pink cow, green cow, superman, skeleton and super hero onesies to name a few! All the runners had to have special numbers pinned to their backs.
All of us Be One Percent kids started the run off with a “3 2 1k fun run” shouted at the top of our voices!
The race started and one of the Dads was the leader of the pack, no-one was allowed to go infront of him – he was relatively slow and some of the kids wanted to overtake him! Eventually we did at the end! The race finished by everyone running over the bridge!
We raised £333.55 for Be One Percent – all this money went directly to Mary’s Meals one of Be One Percent’s charity partners and is enough to feed 40 children their school lunch for a year.
Here are a couple of photos from the event
In the future we will hope to set up more events and raise more awareness for Be One Percent.
