This April we raised £4,653.73 for our charity partner Against Malaria
There are lots of awful statistics we could share with you about malaria. We’re going to avoid those in this post and focus on an encouraging one:
In the past fifteen years malaria mortality rates have dropped by about half.
Malaria is preventable and a net is the most effective and efficient means of prevention. We’ve been annually fundraising for Against Malaria since 2011. In that time we’ve raised a total of £21,367, providing enough Long Life Insecticide Nets to protect over 26,000 people. The number of deaths likely to have been avoided by these nets is over fifty and the number of cases of malaria over 23,000.
