This is our second month of fundraising for a meal a day for 825 children with Mary’s Meals. Mary’s Meals feed 1.6 million children every day in schools, offering them a chance to gain an all-important education without the distraction of hunger. This not only gives a child the energy they need, but encourages attendance at school where they will receive an education and hope for the future.
Every year we sponsor three schools within the Mary’s Meals programme. Thanks to our investment the students of Chitakale Primary School, Blantyre, Malawi, Kalopa Primary School, Mzimba, Malawi and Dudu Town Public School, Montserrado Country, Liberia won’t have to choose between going to school and being fed.
Mary’s Meals is an international movement that sets up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity now feeds over 2.4 million children every school day and it costs just £19.15 to feed a child for a school year. We sponsored our first school with Mary’s Meals in 2011 and have been working with them ever since
