Our February 1% will feed 464 children across three schools with Mary's Meals. We’ve been partnering with Mary’s Meals since 2011 and in that time sponsored thousands of children with a daily meal at school.
You probably know that this meal means the children don’t have to choose between food and learning but did you know that in Malawi Mary’s Meals operate in 30% of schools?
Our two Malawi schools (and one in Liberia!) help make up that number and our 1% this month will be an invaluable part of these pupils’ childhoods, helping them make a more promising start in life.
Mary’s Meals is an international movement that sets up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity now feeds over 2.4 million children every school day and it costs just £19.15 to feed a child for a school year.
