Our July 1% will provide a pre-school in the Mchinji District of western Malawi with clean water and toilets for the first time. We’ll be working with Pump Aid to fund a water pump for 100 students and teach them the importance of good hygiene behaviour. 700 adults in the community will also be invited to go back to the classroom to learn about sanitation and hygiene, which will help reinforce behaviours and improve ownership and sustainability for the new facilities.

Pump Aid’s mission is to achieve lasting positive change in poor and disadvantaged communities by improving the quality, availability and use of water and sanitation. They believe in harnessing the power of the community, local businesses and partners in other sectors, to provide access to affordable, innovative and sustainable solutions which transform communities so that they reach a point of resilience and self-reliance. Today, more than 1.35 million people have access to safe water and improved sanitation as a direct result of their work.
