Our July 1% will get 148 children back into a safe and healthy school environment by repairing Sina School near Duhok, Kurdistan that was damaged by ISIS occupation. The £6,394.07 donated will fund a project with our newest charity partner Partners Relief & Development, an organisation who find sustainable solutions to improve the livelihoods of displaced people. The Yazidi communities in Kurdistan, Northern Iraq where our school is based were some of the most horrifically persecuted by ISIS with thousands of women and children taken captive and large populations displaced. 148 children aged 6-15 currently attend Sina School across two sessions each day. These children are already back in school working within the damaged building and facilities. Together we will repair damaged windows, doors and ceilings. Paint the walls, fix the plumbing, install a new toilet, sort out the electricity and create a courtyard garden.

1 in 6 children globally are living in conflict zones. Partners Relief & Development believe every single one deserves better. From emergency and short-term provision of food, shelter materials, and basic survival necessities during times of acute crisis, to training medics and helping build schools, it's about sowing seeds for future generations. Partners helps communities grow their capacity to help themselves, improving community wellbeing and creating a nurturing environment for children to grow. This includes initiating community-run businesses that sustainably fund local schools, teaching sustainable farming methods that increase crop yields and help feed families, and equipping clinics and training health workers to radically improve access to health care in conflict-affected areas.
